COBA, PUNTA LAGUNA & MONKEY SANCTUARY
This private tour will take you to the ruins of Coba, then on a jungle adventure at Punta Laguna Nature Reserve that you will never forget. This is a unique combination of Mayan cultural and historical outdoor activities here in the Yucatan peninsula…all in one tour!
You will start your tour with a hotel pickup and head to the ruins of Coba. Once there you decide if you would like to ride a bicycle, walk, or be taken by one of our local bicycle taxis. Our guide will show you the way through the city and will share its secrets with you. You will be able to climb to the highest Mayan temple in the peninsula of Yucatan.
This is one of few ruins in the Yucatan that you are still able to climb on. After reaching the top, you will have a stunning view of the jungle and the fresh water lagoons in the area.
After the ruins you will be transported to the natural reserve of Punta Laguna.
Your first activity will be participating in an ancient Mayan ceremony led by an authentic Shaman from the village. Followed by a hike into the jungle where you will see the most charismatic animal in the area, the Spider Monkey. There are approximately 600 to 800 monkeys in the reserve and your guide will inform you about them and their habitat.
Your next move is to jump in a canoe and take a ride across the 90 hectares long fresh water lagoon to your next activity- zip lining. You will fly across the lagoon on a 440 m long line and enjoy the thrills of the ride! And if the thrill is not enough you will be amazed by the beauties below as you rappel into the natural sinkhole (cenote). You will find it stunning as well as refreshing!
After the activities your appetite will be satiated with a traditional Mayan lunch.
