CENOTES AND ATV JUNGLE TOUR
For the thrill-seeker, this tour will show you the stunning beauty of the famous underground cave water system of the Yucatan, the largest in the world with over 80,000 discovered cenotes and an adventure through the jungle on ATVs. If you are interested in nature exploration and adventure this tour will satisfy all of your needs.
You will visit the three different types of cenotes the area has to offer and experience the natural inner wonders of the Earth and the serenity of the sacred waters of the Maya.
As we head underground, you will be able to experience the 3 different cenotes that exist: A full-cave cenote, a semi-open cenote, and a fully open cenote. As we move from each one, you will learn the importance cenotes play in our ecosystem, where and how they form, their wildlife inhabitants, the flora and fauna that surrounds them, and the culture and history that hide inside them. There is no limit as to how long you can swim and explore in each location. You don’t have to be an expert swimmer to fully enjoy this experience! All snorkel equipment, life vests etc. will be provided for your convenience to float with ease through the cenotes. Here you will also have the option to rappel 45 feet down into a cenote!
Your second activity of the day will be riding ATV’s through the rugged jungle terrain. Through twisting dirt roads and rocky jungle paths, you’ll be able to go as fast as you want or stay back at a slower pace as you explore the landscape. Protective helmets and basic operational instructions will be provided; for your comfort, closed toed shoes and sunglasses are recommended for this portion of your excursion.
To finish the day, we will have have some traditional Mexican food and another Corona to complete this full day authentic tour before returning to your accommodations. We are positive you will have the experience of a lifetime!
